January 5, 2025: Defending My IP Against the Big Five Infringing On My Work

Lisa Loucks-Christenson is the original author and illustrator of Don't Eat Bees!™. Despite sending a cease-and-desist letter to a major publishing house, they have not only disregarded her rights but are also falsely claiming to be the creators of Don't Eat Bees! This situation underscores the ongoing challenges she faces with copyright and intellectual property theft. To defend her intellectual property, Loucks-Christenson has creatively utilized her comics. In Book 15 of her original series, The Hallowinks, the characters observe the stars aligning to spell "Don't Eat Bees," with Hobby Horse referencing it as a "Penguin Moon." This clever narrative device highlights her ongoing battle against infringement.

Online Presence and Promotion

Loucks-Christenson actively promotes her work through multiple domains, including:

  • donteatbees.com
  • donteatbeescomic.com
  • officialdonteeatbees.com
  • PeacockBooksWildlifeArt.com
  • archives.Lisalc.com
  • LisaLc.com
  • SilverLakeBooks.Com

In addition to these, she manages dozens of other domains that she pays for, all aimed at promoting her book series, Don't Eat Bees!™, published under her registered trademark Story Antics® and Story Antics Personalized Books™, exclusive merchandise and physical art, books sold through Peacock Books & Wildlife Art, Comics published through her imprints LisaComics and DareWing™ Comics. This extensive online presence is part of her strategy to maintain visibility and advocate for her rights as a creator.

Key Issues of Infringement

  • Ongoing Copyright Violations: Loucks-Christenson's work has been repeatedly stolen, including both her Hallowink Hollow™ series and her (then) registered trademark Bow Wow Detectives® and Bow Wow Detectives™ she is using now.
  • Failure of Legal Protections: Despite achieving #1 best-seller status and being recognized as an Amazon Hot New Release, her attempts to protect her work through Amazon's Brand Registry have failed. The platform has allowed duplicate content and ignored her DMCA notices while promoting competing works that mimic her style.
  • Legal Action: Loucks-Christenson is currently working with her legal team to pursue a lawsuit against the major publishing house and imprints that have not paid her but used her images in another book series, repeatedly, and have threatened her with legal action should she decide to bring legal action on them. She has gathered substantial evidence of these infringements, which she intends to expose publicly, along with the plagiarism of her exact words, by their author, who Loucks-Christenson took screenshots for evidence off her website stating, "I can't write."

Loucks-Christenson's determination as an investigative journalist fuels her fight against these injustices. She emphasizes the need for accountability within the publishing industry and remains committed to protecting the rights of independent creators like herself.
