Daedee and Dancer's second set of twins, Dorothy Gail Reuben and Damian Danielle are born. The twins show Lisa the true bond of siblings and the depth of human spirit when flash floods almost eliminate their nest tree and their very existence, when a spring flood wipes out the area, and in late summer, a second flash flood wipes out the territory and nearby towns.
Lisa's footage from the flash floods, Black Hawk helicopters, damage to Elba aired on KTTC News, television. Lisa was in the town recording interviews with the residents. At first, the National Guard wasn't going to allow her in, but with her media credentials, they allowed her through to cover both her project and interviews, but only at her own risk. They told her they wouldn't go in if she ran into trouble she was on her own.
When she arrived at the nest site, still deep underwater, on a washed out road, she hiked out until she couldn't go through any further, 3-4-foot fish jumped out of the grasses almost every step, as waded through the muck and water, but as she sank in the mud, in the moment she met defeat, and had to turn back something wonderful happened...
